April 12

Yesterday, after our walk, we obtained the address of the local Habitat affiliate and went looking for the executive director. The office was located in a local bank building and that is where we met Cole Tidwell and his wife Jo. Cole has been active with the Ardmore affiliate for many years and has done an excellent job here. We saw many awards and achievement plaques on the wall.

We told him when we would be walking through Ardmore and he went to work. After a few minutes, he had us lined up to meet with a reporter from the Daily Ardmoreite, the local paper. Also, two TV crews were to meet us. We walked into town at the agreed time and Cole and Jo were there. Also joining us we Rick Blaggett, the Presbyterian minister we had met on Sunday, who is a member of the Habitat board. Also a young man named Craig and a lady by the name of Joyce, both board members. The TV crews were no-shows, but we did get interviewed by the newspaper reporter. After about 30 minutes of visiting with our hosts, it was back on the road again. We walked through Ardmore and Carol and Ruth were waiting on us just east of Ardmore.

We found an Oklahoma license plate and 63 and a half cents. Stayed tuned ....
