April 16

We moved the RVs from Lake Texoma State Park to Simmons RV Park just outside Durant. We will probably be here 3 days.

Got to sleep in a little this morning as the starting point was just a short drive out on Highway 70. In no time at all, we passed by a business selling tornado shelters. Tornadoes should be taken seriously and the people of Oklahoma take their tornadoes very serious.

After a few miles we entered the town of Durant, Oklahoma. A lady stopped us and said we were doing a good job walking and "God Bless You". Thanks.

As we were walking through Durant, we noticed the colored horses similar to the cows that Plainview, Texas has. On we walked passed the Highway 70 detour and then east toward Hugo. Just before Ruth and Carol picked us up, we saw a sign that said, "Whitaker Show Pigs". Now, I'm just a city boy. I don't know what a show pig is. Does it mean Mr. Whitaker is showing his pigs. Cause if he is, I didn't see any. Or, does it mean that his pigs put on a show, maybe a traveling show. If anyone has any ideas, drop us a line.

We found an Oklahoma license plate, a spool of monofilament fishing line, one dice and $1.18 in coins. Stay tuned ....
