Got in 11 miles today. All things considered, we felt pretty good after the walk. I wouldn't say this was a boring walk, but the most excitement we had today was watching a young calf try to get back into the fenced in area that it escaped from. The other cows came over to where it was and gave it some encouragement, but it was still outside the fence when we passed by.
We also passed one house today. Vacant, lonely and badly in need of repair.
Towards the end of today's walk, a man in a pick-up truck hauling a cattle trailer, stopped and asked us, "Are y'all alright ". John looked at me and I looked at him. There are different ways to take that question. Are two old men, dressed in orange, walking across the US, alright?
We told him we were walking cross country and thanked him for checking on us.
John found a dime. Total take for the week, 16 cents. That includes a penny that Carol found at the gas station in Waurika. Stayed tuned ....
