Monday, April 4

We started walking around 8 am today. After about 3 miles, we entered the town of Grandfield, population 1,110. I wouldn't say this was a sleepy little farming town, but the most excitement we could see was the boys gathering at the Quik Sak for the morning cup of coffee. As John and I walked through town, we realized that our walk through town was the most excitement in Grandfield since Julie Payne won the Miss Oklahoma contest in 1998. We know that by the sign that her mom and dad put up.

It was windy today. Luckily, it was at our backs and pushed us along. We came to a second town, Devon. I wouldn't say that Devon was a small town, but John counted 55 steps from the "Welcome to Devon" sign going into town to the "Welcome to Devon" sign going out of town.

Today was a productive day, 12 miles, John found a dime, I found 4 pennies and an Oklahoma license plate. Stay tuned .....
